A third-year undergraduate art student, second-youngest Subaru goes to the same university as Suzuna, Yoshitaka and Mai. Though an extremely shy person that closes his heart off to most, he actually behaves like a child around the right people. Since he is unable to sleep alone at night, he sometimes crawls into one of his brothers' beds. At the moment, he's the "pet" of an older female jewellery designer, so he only comes home when he feels like it.

A prodigious, virtuoso pianist, Subaru has won a myriad of related awards and prizes. Unfortunately, since he injured his hand last year, he lost his ability to play the piano in front of those he doesn't know. He's always seen with his beloved pet chameleon, "Berry", who he found in a park.
