ミドリ

Midori is a house ghost that has lived in the Itsukaichi household for as long as Keiji can remember. She was Keiji's best friend and always used to play with him around the house.

Being a zashikiwarashi. Midori has a somewhat childish mentality and acts on impulse instead of thinking things through. As such, an argument between her and Keiji breaks out when Midori (out of jealousy) releases a stag beetle that Keiji had captured, feeling that what he was doing got in the way of playing games with her. The argument ends with Keiji telling her that he'd be fine with her leaving, and she decides to do so.

With almost ten years having passed since that day, Midori decides to give herself a second chance with Keiji. Aware that he might not forgive her for leaving the house (she particularly blames herself for the death of Keiji's parents), she decides to remake herself into something else. The result are two youkai. A kage-onna named Mikage, and a yakubyougami named Sachiko. Another way to put it is that Midori became Mikage, and what was left over turned into Sachiko.
