Amane is the daughter of the Judo Dōjō's master where Shuuji used to learn. She was there was her eldest and so her mentor. Nowaday, she is a third-year student and is close to a high school not far from Konomi's middle school, who is now her apprentice at the dōjō. She's foul-mouthed and calmly spits abusive language at people because of which she isn't popular despite her great looks.

A few years ago, Shuuji badly wounded her in the left leg during a fight and she had to be operated because the wound was severe. During her convalescence in the hospital, Shuuji decided to go see her and go to confess her feelings for her with a bouquet of flowers and that's how they started to go out together.

Because of her injury, Amane can no longer fight and can no longer compete in judo competitions. After a few years, Amane broke her relationship with Shuuji because he did not treat her like a girlfriend (the only "intimate" thing that Shuuji had done to her was to massage her shoulders and back) but they remained good friends.

One day, as she was returning home, Amane was surrounded by thugs who wanted to force her to have sex with them. Unable to fight, Amane was in a bad situation. Shuuji then intervened so that the thugs give up the case, but one of them then left a knife. Shuuji then attacked the first and made a real carnage by exploding them violently. Because of this incident, Shuuji was excommunicated from the dōjō in front of all the students because he violated the rules of judo and has used it to attack people (even if it was justified). It was the last time he saw Amane before seeing her again, when she takes her protégé Konomi to see how her step brother is, at Aoi's house the following year.

The dōjō of her family works so well that he even attracts police officers who come to train. Thanks to that, Amane's family is quite wealthy, and they have many cars in their garage.

Amane has a great passion for driving, she passed her driving license not long ago. She always does judo, but only gives lessons with her father and doesn't fight.

She is the most popular girl in her high school, but no boys approach her because she sends them away violently.

Amane didn't leave Shuuji because she didn't love him anymore, on the contrary, she still loves him very much. She left Shuuji because she felt very upset that he never tried to have sex with her, or even to kiss her at least one time. Her pride took a big hit and she thought it was her lack of coquetry that was the culprit (in addition to Shuuji's lack of courage) so she decided to become more feminine before seeing him again. When she comes back to see him in Aoi's house and sees that he is with Itsuki, she is certain that he doesn't actually go out with her, but she keeps it to herself. 

On the contrary, she realizes that Shuuji is very attractive for the other girls too, she even begins to believe that Shuuji slept with Aoi, Itsuki or someone else. Also realizing that Shuuji could fall in love with another girl, Amane promises to herself not to get in their way and lets things happen, however, if she sees that Shuuji is not interested in any of the other girls he frequents, she will not hesitate to take him for her./
