In her previous life before meet Yukina, she didn't have friends. and when her village have starvation, villagers choose to offer an offering to the gods to have rain in their villager. the first offering is a loner child that have similarities like makina. after makina know that she will have same fate like her, she choose to eat that body. if that body is not offered to the gods, maybe she will not have bad fate. but after she eat it, at the same time she eat offering to yamauba and yamauba who are eaten by her is not completely vanished in her digestion. later she become double existence with yamauba that make her become youi too. after that she exchange a promise to small yukina that later become her cause to lose her major portion of existence from yamauba/
