The NERV Commander and Father of The 3rd Children, Ikari Shinji. He has a distant relationship with his son.

After the death of his wife, he secretly had a sexual relationship with Akagi Naoko and her daughter, Ritsuko./

At a later point in the stories, he decided to betray SEELE by injecting the embryonic form of 1st Angel Adam into his body to resurrect his wife. However, his effort is a complete failure due to Ayanami Rei's betrayal. He later lost his upper body from head to waist. /
