Hinako is the landlord of "Tsubakisou" apartment complex where the protagonist lives. Hinako is soft spoken, carries herself in a very receptive manner, and exudes a motherly aura. In contrast to her calming demeanor, she is a bit of a scatterbrain and has a habit of carelessly rushing into things without fully thinking them through. 

Coupled with her love for Tsubakisou, Hinako's hobby is DIY construction. She takes pride in having renovated the battered down apartment complex with her own hands and never misses a day of maintenance and grounds-keeping. 

Hinako's love for Tsubakisou is so great that she even goes as far as to say that her first love was not for a human being, but rather for Tsubakisou.
