A Waima initially encountered by Klaus and Helmina when she's on the run from a group of Angels pursuing her for the theft of a valuable coin in the Angels' possession. When Maize asks for help but is refused, she draws the attention of her angelic pursuers to Klaus and his group, which forces them into combat.

 Maize loves gold, in particular the hard currency used by the humans. She stashes her collection amidst ruins and spends her days either admiring her stash or going out to look for more additions to her collection. She values gold and currency above everything else, even her own life and freedom.

Given a choice between giving gold as a reward to Klaus and his group for saving her bacon and simply running away with just a word of thanks, she chooses the latter. This enrages Klaus and they track her to her hideout where she is forced to defend herself from intruders to her "home".

If captured in battle, Klaus confiscates her entire stash and uses it to bribe Maize into fighting for him (in addition to the use of sex magic). Because of her typical Waima personality, Klaus avoids talking to her for any longer than he has to because it is a mentally draining experience. /
