Amnesiac mercenary hoping to find answers to his forgotten past in the ruins beneath Ishgalia.

 A homunculus created from the Bloodspring of Life by the great alchemist Magna when the floating city of Windal was flourishing. Magna's original intention was to create a companion for his daughter after she was cured by the completed Bloodspring, hence he sealed Orias in the hopes that he would survive Windal's collapse. After Krayle discovered him in the ruins and failed to kill him, he was picked up by a mercenary and raised in the arts of war despite his amnesia.

According to the hypothesis of Edna and Meriel, Orias is a unique creation of the Bloodspring which Magna could not reproduce despite his genius. His special abilities to use seeds he finds in the freshly slain carcasses of certain creatures is tied to his unique nature as a created homunculus bearing a severely weakened version of the Bloodspring's ability to extract the life essence from living creatures. /

His outward appearance belies his true age and he is the source of much amusement for Ursula for his "childish" looks and personality.
